jerry fuchs was one of the best drummers i’ve ever seen. the power and precision in his playing was so unique to him that it was no surprise he was such a sought-after drummer. any band or artist could not, in good conscience, go onstage with a drum machine or a loop maker of any type if jerry was available. just throw those machines in the garbage and watch this guy play and propel your music to a higher place. he had absolute jaw-dropping talent. i even tried to get him into the fiery furnaces for a double drumming tour…..he was too busy gracing other bands with great musicianship and his fantastic personality.
we hung out after shows a bunch in the northsix days and he was a hilarious guy, had a great super-friendly vibe and was just fun to be around. he blew me away with his drumming then made me laugh my ass off after the show! the last time i saw him was when he came by N6 to drop off some children’s books for my daughter that he “acquired” while working a job somewhere. that really meant alot to me and judging by all the things i’ve heard about jerry over the yrs, that was a common thing for him to do.
he will be sorely missed. r.i.p jerry…..
